What we rent, and what each effect is for
- Cold spark machines. Spark fountain machines, from $35 per day, plus the Rotating Cold Spark Machine (360° rotating fountain) at $90 per day. The wider catalog lists models by throw height, from a 350W mini machine (2–3 m) to up-spray and hanging machines (1–5 m). "Cold" does not mean safe to put anywhere: California Health and Safety Code 12505 classes titanium and zirconium spark material as dangerous fireworks, the heat from the sparks can still ignite nearby materials, and some fire authorities prohibit the machines outright.
- CO2 jets. Vertical CO2 columns for drops and reveals, including single, double-head and LED-lit models; quoted per event.
- Haze, fog and low fog. The 1000W Haze Machine ($25 per day) makes lighting beams visible. Low-fog and dry-ice machines produce a ground-hugging cloud for first dances and reveals; the Dry Ice Low-Fog Machine is $35 per day and larger models are quoted per event. Dry ice and fog/haze fluid are provided on request; contact us for a quote.
- Bubbles and confetti. The Bubble Machine ($40 per day) for lighter moments, and confetti and streamer launchers — manual, electric and CO2-driven — for finales, quoted per event.
Who this suits, and who it doesn't
Effects rental suits weddings (a first-dance low fog, a grand entrance), corporate launches and brand reveals, galas, concerts and club nights — events with one or two moments that deserve something extra. It does not suit a venue or city that prohibits the effect you have in mind: Central County Fire, for example, prohibits cold spark devices in Burlingame, Millbrae and Hillsborough, and venues set their own rules on haze, fog, confetti and sparks. If your venue says no, a lighting change or a bubble or confetti moment the venue does allow is the fallback.
Cleared with the venue and the fire authority
Cold spark, CO2 and fog in particular need correct placement, clearance and often venue sign-off. Rules differ from one jurisdiction to the next. Under our rental terms, venue-specific permits and approvals are the client's to secure, so ask the venue and the local fire authority early and get the answer in writing. When our crew operates an effect, VENEGEEST holds the operating permits for running it; if you rent equipment and operate it yourself, you carry that responsibility. Tell us the venue and the moment you are planning, and we will tell you what the setup needs in placement, power and clearance.
Setup, operation and return
You can have the equipment delivered and set up, or collect it yourself from the South San Francisco warehouse during business hours with a valid ID and a signed rental agreement. Delivery, setup, technician services and any overtime are scoped and quoted to your event. Our crew can run cold spark, CO2 and low fog on cue during the show; for a standard setup the team needs at least two hours, and larger productions may need more.
A daily rate covers a 24-hour rental period from delivery or pickup, and rentals of five or more consecutive days get a weekly rate. A 25% non-refundable deposit secures the booking. You are responsible for the equipment until it is returned: keep it dry and secure, use it only as instructed, report any malfunction straight away, and return every machine, cable and case in the condition you received it. Late returns are charged the daily rate for each day overdue.
